Hi, I'm Désara, the founder of Young Bole Bindery.

The idea for Young Bole originated a few years ago. I have been an artist my entire life, primarily working with paper-based mediums, including drawing, watercolor, charcoal, and pastel. I have always struggled to find a sketchbook that supports my artistic process rather than restricting it. This led me down a path to the world of bookbinding.

I made my first book in 2021, and have been focused on learning the skills of traditional bookbinding necessary to become a full-time binder ever since. I have been fortunate to learn from some of the top binders in the country. 

Young Bole is focused on books that invest in the creative process. The core of my collection is two books I use most often. My signature sketchbook, which incorporates watercolor, drawing, writing, and handmade paper, each providing unique surfaces for your favorite creative medium. Second, a writing journal with beautiful paper featuring a variety of layout options, including dots, lines, blank, and grids. 

In the future, I will offer an expanding range of options, including fine bindings, edition bindings, commissions, box making, and custom-built artist books.
